College Soccer Advantage to help high school aged NSU players find the right school

Want to play soccer in college? For most club players there’s a simple answer: yes. Not so simple is the process and figuring out the pathway to getting where you want.

North Shore United has recently entered into a partnership with College Soccer Advantage (collegesocceradvantage.net), an organization that has shown hundreds of players how to understand the college soccer world so they can make the best academic and athletic decisions moving forward. College Soccer Advantage founder Chris Hamblin, a former associate head coach of Boston College women’s team and a current assistant coach with the Boston Breakers, puts it this way:
As part of College Soccer Advantage’s partnership with North Shore, boys and girls ages 15 and above will get exclusive access to a host of tools and resources when they log in at the northshoreunitedsoccer.com website. One you log in your page will include the “college recruiting” button on the club homepage (it doesn’t show on the page if you don’t log in). Click on the button to access the exclusive content, including video tips, and other explainers to get started.
College Soccer Advantage also offers discounted rates on a range of additional custom services from their team of experts, including effective player recruitment videos, one on one mentoring, a customized plan of action for the entire process, and expert assistance with building player profiles.
College Soccer Advantage was tremendously valuable to us as we navigated the whole college recruiting process,” wrote one parent in a testimonial for College Soccer Advantage. “All throughout, they were there to answer questions, clarify the process and provide valuable advice. Their incredible expertise, guidance and support ultimately resulted in the perfect “fit” for our daughter to continue her soccer career.”

Several NSU players, like those on the D1 U16s, expect to be in hunt for state titles

There are no shortage of NSU players -- including nine freshmen from the U15 squad -- who expect to help lead their varsity teams into the state tournament later this fall.

Perhaps the highest profile team in the area -- last year's Division I North Finalist, Peabody High School -- will be returning Kara and Victoria DiGiacomo of NSU. The freshmen starters were honorable mention Salem News all stars and helped lead Peabody to a 19-1-2 season, the most successful in school history. Meanwhile, the DiGiacomos' clubmates at NSU -- players like Jaime Block at Georgetown (U16s), Mia Farnham from Masconomet (u17s), and Joy Santorelli from Hamilton Wenham (U17s) are expected to have big seasons as well.

As for the U15 team they feature three players on the perennial powerhouse Masconomet varsity. Longtime NSU players Paige Pratt and Julia O'Reilly, along with newcomer Sammi Sheehan, were the only freshmen to make the Masco varsity. "This is the most freshmen to make the Masco varsity in the recent past," says U15 NSU coach Andrew Pratt. "Typically one, maybe two freshmen make the team."

In addition to the Masco contingent, NSU veterans Shannon Dube (Triton) and Erin Loehner (Danvers) will be playing varsity this season as will recent NSU additions Ashley Corton (Saugus High) and Katie Andrews and Shelby Salas (Rockport High). Annette Rugerio and Vicky Caruso will be playing for the Bishop Fenwick varsity.

Stay tuned for regular updates as the season gets underway.
