Founder/president of North Shore United, owner/director North Shore United Soccer Camp. Franciosa's coaching background is extensive, encompassing elite youth (Region 1 coach and director of the New Hampshire ODP), college (head coach at Newbury College and Endicott; assistant at Bentley and Boston College); and semi-professional (head coach of the NH Phantoms of the PDL.) Franciosa holds an "A" License from the USSF and a Premier License from the NSCAA. He will be co-coaching the boys state championship winning U15 squad in 2010-11 as well as the girls U13 and U14 blue teams.
Director of NSU boys soccer. James, a former Salem State All America, has collected three state titles as a NSU head coach. On the NSU staff since 2003, James has been a leading coach on the local club soccer scene from the beginning, starting with the Beverly-based Force and the Swampscott-based Suns. He directs countless clinics and camps and has privately trained some of the best youth players in the area. He will be co-coaching the U15 boys team in 2010-2011 and will also coach the U10, U13, and U14 boys in the fall.
Director of NSU girls soccer. Lamar has coached at the college and youth levels for 17 years and holds an USSF C license and a NSCAA license. At the college level he led the Scottsdale Community College in Arizona to 12th in the nation; he also was a men's assistant coach at Endicott College. He will be coaching the U12 girls this fall and the U16 girls and the defending state champion U15 boys in the spring
Director of coaching for North Shore Soccer Arena, head coach for the fall 2010 girls U17and U18 teams. A graduate of Johnson State College, Lafrenz is the former head coach of the women's club soccer team at the University of Vermont, whom he led to three straight berths in the National Championship Tournament and two Northeast Intercollegiate Club Championships. He was recently named the head soccer coach at Newbury College
Philippe Berthoud brings his many years of playing and coaching experience to the club. Philippe was a professional soccer player for the Charlotte Eagles, USL. Philippe has an extensive youth soccer development background as coach and camp director with the Charlotte Eagles and EC United. Philippe also served as the head men's soccer coach at Gordon College and holds a USSF C License.
Katina (Katie) Idol was starting sweeper at Johnson State College for four years and followed up her college career by assistant coaching her alma mater for 1 year. She then coached youth soccer teams in the Mad River Valley before moving to Seattle where she played and coached in the Coed Amateur League for 2 years. Katie has been coaching camps and teams with North Shore since 2009. She is currently coaching the U13 girls team (who are a great group of players!) and when not on the field she is a therapeutic teacher at a small nonprofit school in Lexington.
A longtime coach and the assistant director last winter at the North Shore Soccer Arena, Mike played elite level soccer as a youth and began his coaching career in Peabody. He will coach the U11 and U12 boys in the fall.
A coach at NSU since 2006, the Rhode Island native played ODP as a youth and collegiate level soccer at Endicott College. He will coach the U11 and U14 White teams this fall.
A four year player for Endicott College who has taught at clinics throughout the North Shore, Joshua will be the head coach of the U10 girls team this fall; in the spring he will assist on the U17 and U18 girls teams.
A former goalkeeper coach at Fitchburg State College and East Stroudsburg University (where he was a standout player), Dan has focused on youth teams more recently, coaching at the club level in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is also the goalkeeper coach for the NH Phantoms teams of the PDL and at Wheaton College. Dan is the newest addition to the NSU staff.
A coach in youth soccer for 14 years Chris has worked at club, town, and high school levels. He holds a "D" level license and led a U14 squad to a Pingree County championship. Chris, in his fourth year at NSU, will be coaching the U10 girls in the fall.
As a high school player in NH Ben played under the tutelage of Ben Brewster, a former US National Team player. Ben played college soccer at Endicott, where he is currently an assistant, and has coached at NSU for two years. He holds an NSCAA national diploma. In the fall he will be leading the U11 girls.
A former coach in Connecticut and a former player at Endicott College, Brian has coached with NSU the last two seasons.
A four year starter at Bentley College, Andrew has been coaching girls for the past 12 years. He has been associated with NSU for the past six years. He will be coaching the U15 girls in the spring.
